The National Disability Authority (NDA) recently launched new guidelines called Participation Matters. These guidelines will support public bodies to meaningfully consult with and actively involve disabled people and their representative organisations in decision making.
The guidelines support the United Nations Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (UNCRPD) which places an obligation on Government to include disabled people and their representative organisations in the development, implementation and monitoring of policies and legislation, and in other decision-making processes.
